Mead of the month tasting – a journey through the terroir of honey and mead with Tom Gosnell
Each month this year we have selected a specific honey and made a delicious mead from it. These have included monofloral (from one flower) honeys, such as acacia, or from a single hive, e.g. our Hackney Golden mead.
Come down and join founder, Tom, for an evening talking through our range of meads of the month.
Tom will talk you through 6 glasses of our mead, talking about what the bees have been foraging to make the honey, what this brings out in the final mead, and how we settled on the style to make.
This will be a unique opportunity, to learn more about honey, terroir and the range of meads we make here at Gosnells!
£10 per ticket, includes 6 meads of the month + a welcome glass of Gosnells of London
Brewery Course - Make Your Own Mead (13:00 - 15:00)
One of the brewery team will begin with a quick talk about the history of mead, a tour of the brewery and a tutored tasting of Gosnells core range. This will include some samples of their special mead and other kinds of mead for comparison.
You will then be set up with all the equipment you need to brew your own mead! You will be guided through the processes. Such as: selecting the base ingredients, mixing up your “must” and pitching your yeast. You will then be briefed on what to expect from the fermentation process and how to finish your brew at home.
