This is the second in our series of small-batch meads, and it's a real cracker.
For this mead, we've taken inspiration from that Winter drinks cabinet stalwart, Sloe Gin.
Our Sloe Mead was created by barrel fermenting 2 different meads with two different strains of wine yeast in fresh ex-bourbon barrels together with juniper and dried sloe berries.
After the fermentation, we blended the two barrels, added a little more honey for that juicy finish, a whole heap of fresh sloe berries, and a hint of star anise to make it feel more wintry.
Finally, we then added a little carbonation just to lift the aromatics and allow it to come alive, and put it into cans ready to get into your hands.
